Frequently asked questions
Do I need a WhatsApp Business account?
Yes. The integration uses the official WhatsApp Business API, which requires a Meta Business account and a verified phone number. Personal WhatsApp accounts are not supported.
Can the agent participate in group chats?
Yes. When added to a group, your agent can read messages, respond to mentions, and execute tasks requested by any group member.
Is there a message limit?
WhatsApp Business API has its own rate limits based on your account tier. OpenClaw does not impose additional message caps beyond what Meta allows.
Are messages stored on your servers?
No. Messages are processed in real-time on your own server and are not stored on OpenClaw infrastructure. Your data stays on your machine.
